The epistemological paradigms are the underpinnings of the future research you will conduct. For example, if you conduct a quantitative study, its main underpinning will be logical positivism or empiricism. And if you conduct a qualitative study, the main underpinning will be interpretivism or positivism. Epistemology is the foundation for social work practice, policy, and social problems.
In this Discussion, you will identify a social problem, review initial literature, and discuss the strengths and limitations of different ontological approaches.
