Is social media incompatible with democracy?

This is my argument essay for my freshmen year at university. I have already modified it so many times and want someone professional to help me.
***Requirement for First Draft of the Argument Essay.
Since the Summary & Synthesis Project, we have focused on misinformation and disinformation in their political context. We have read about how social media accelerates and amplifies their spread. As many experts agree, this spread has troubling implications for democracies around the world. We therefore ask: as we confront the consequences of a vulnerable information ecosystem, is social media incompatible with democracy? Why or why not? Make an argument that weighs in on this question. You may draw from the various psychological, technological, and cultural threads we have explored this quarter. Minimum of 4 sources; 2-3 sources should be from 4B and at least 1 source should be from AWP 4A.
***The in text citation can only be the text that I mentioned in the work cite bellow. Also some other course material for you to help me to find a counterargument, which shows profit-making companies are not monopolizing the whole society.
