You will write a minimum three-page paper addressing a topic of your choice based on our class readings and discussions with guest speakers. The paper should highlight one important issue with supporting arguments using class readings or other research articles to provide evidence for your arguments. See assessment criteria below. The paper should focus on one important issue and include a minimum of three pieces of evidence that the issue is one of significance. These may be located in our guest speakers’ talks to us, readings we have conducted, materials we have viewed such as films or videos, materials you have accessed on your own, or lectures that the instructor has offered. All should be cited in APA format in the text and in APA format in the reference section of the paper.
The paper should state the problem you will be discussing, evidence you are providing that this is a problem in the state and/or nation, and a discussion of possible resolutions to the problem you are identifying. You must e-mail the instructor your proposed topic by Week 9 of the course (April 21). Your paper is due on Thursday, MAY 5th, 2019 in class at the latest. Late submissions will be accepted but will incur a three-point penalty per day unless a late submission has been negotiated with the instructor/s.
