Y​‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌​ou have been invited to publish an original piece of writing to an anthology titled, “Young Writers’ Showcase: Contemporary Voices”. You have also been asked to write a reflection which outlines your experiences as a composer and the process of crafting your piece.
Part A – Written Piece
Compose an original piece of imaginative, discursive, persuasive or informative writing which is evidently inspired by at least one of the prescribed texts studied in Module C. Your piece should be between 600-700 words in length. The marker will stop reading after 700 words.
In your piece of writing, you must incorporate effectively crafted examples of figurative language (at least THREE) to engage the reader and enhance your ideas. These language choices must be directly influenced by your study of the prescribed texts in Module C.
In addition, your response should reflect at least ONE of the following elements from your prescribed text:
• Form (speech; prose fiction; non- fiction etc.)
• Structure (chronological; flashback; multiple narrative perspectives etc.)
• Significant stylistic features (tone; extended metaphor, rhetoric, point of view etc.) • Significant textua​‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌​l concepts (theme, context, perspective, character etc.)
• Key concepts or purpose
Note – your final submission needs to be a complete piece of writing.
Part B – Reflection
Compose a 400-word reflective piece of writing, which outlines your experience as a composer and evaluates the compositional choices taken in crafting your polished piece.
The marker will stop reading after 400 words.
Your reflection you should:
• Articulate your purpose of writing including reference to audience.
• Analyse the effectiveness of three stylistic (including your figurative devices) or structural choices you made to successfully convey your ideas with power and precision and how this has been inspired by your prescribed text (s).
• Reflect thoughtfully own your own crafting of concept, structure, style and language devices, audience and purpose.
Note – You must write the total words written for each section at the bottom of each part.
