Write a letter to a school-age child who is getting ready to transition into adolescence. The letter should be creative, impart knowledge about the major milestones the child might experience throughout the course of adolescence, and provide insight on what the child has to look forward to as he/she progresses through this developmental stage. Students are expected to reflect upon their own adolescence and the course material for this assignment. Use of course material.
For the letter, think of it as an opportunity to pull together what you’ve learned, in your own words, to benefit a teen you know. You can really write a letter to a friend of family member. This means you do not need to provide in text citations, since the document is in letter format. You may reference your textbook or other course material at the end since you should be using concepts from the course, but again, your writing should be in your own words and framed in a way that a teen might understand the meaning. In other words, show me what you’ve learned and what you believe is most useful to a teen in your life.
