Learning Goal: I’m working on a writing discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.Discussion Three: Who Owns the Great Artifacts of the World?Here’s what you need to write about (choose one bullet point):—-1- Many of the works we’ve studied so far in class have been removed from their original location and context to be placed inside museums (often without permission from the societies that produced them). Using one example from past readings or lectures, explain the benefits and disadvantages of taking artworks out of their home country and placing them into cultural institutions.OR2- Why do some groups destroy cultural artifacts or loot from museums? What do you think they hope to achieve by eliminating objects from the past? Should they be stopped? Give examples. (For example, think about ISIS’ destruction of the Assyrian city of Nimrud or the Mosul Museum.
