Our socialization is heavily influenced by several key structural dimensions.  One of these aspects is social class. Karl Marx and Max Weber each provided a sociological theory to analyze and explain class stratification and social mobility.  Marx focused on the relationship between the bourgeoisie and the proletariat while Weber discussed class, status, and party. Social class also intersects with the inequality of race, ethnicity, and gender. Consider the ways in which class status informs gender expectations, or the way racial or ethnic identity impacts social mobility.
Reflect on your own class status and social mobility.
