What is the relevance of this issue in today’s climate?2. Give an in-depth historical background of this issue.The city of Techland is in an interesting state. You have a tale of multiple cities within the same city. There’s your industrialized area full of factories, steel mills, and middle collar workers. They are made up of workers with very little college education, but have strong work ethics and desires to do well. Many of the residents here are part of the OW party. Then, you have the urban portion of Techland. It is your typical big city with heavy development in business, entertainment, and has recently taken up ideas to become more environmentally friendly based on transportation, population, and overall improved living conditions. Many of the residents here are part of the MA party. Then, you have the suburban portion of Techland, made up of more homes and more family oriented living and activities. However, they want to find a way to have a mix of industrial and urban living to provide a different experience for their residents. Many of the residents here are part of the NYIT party.To nobody’s surprise, COVID-19 has plagued this town and all of its parts. Residents have taken a second Industry and factory production have slowed down, leading to a loss of jobs. Many jobs in the city have gone remote or have reduced staff, causing layoffs. It has trickled into the suburban areas, as the loss of jobs has impacted the ability of families to earn a living and meet their financial obligations. The economic changes have made residents question if staying in Techland is sensible for them. Despite an increase in taxes that promised to bring improved living conditions, the overall infrastructure has taken a toll. Many buildings are out of code, apartments are overpopulated, and there are constant breakdowns in the 150 year old transportation system, which is made up of an expansive bus and train system that extends throughout the entire city. Crime and violence are on the rise, and the residents no longer feel safe. There is simultaneous fear that the police cannot effectively keep the town safe and that they are targeting the wrong people when it comes to reducing crime. Graduation rates have fluctuated, as many have questioned how effective Common Core is educating the future generations. Even with the prosperity of the city as a whole, there are areas of poverty which have truly created a tale of multiple cities within a city.
