The film follows the life of Forrest Gump who struggles to cope with the walls that society has built around him. He faces many challenges, such as going to war, becoming a star football player, and starting his own business. But even after everything, Forrest will always have his undying love for Jenny, no matter what he is doing or where he is she will never be very far from his thoughts.
When I watched this film the character Forrest made me feel bravery and loyalty.

He made me feel this because he goes out of his way to do what’s right rather than what is easy. One scene we see this in is when he is at war in Vietnam and he risks his life to save wounded soldiers whilst they are under attack and when he has been ordered to stay out of the danger zone as an airstrike was on the way but despite what he had been ordered to do Forrest ran back into the forest to try save his best good friend Bubba because “even I know that ain’t something you can find just around the corner.

” I feel that bravery and loyalty in this scene because he is sticking to the morals that he knows and not taking anything for granted.
Forrest also made me feel mindfulness. I felt this mainly because of Forrest’s quote “life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get.” He shares this quote to anyone who will listen to him.
Through this quote, we see that he is able and willing to go through life taking every opportunity given to him. One scene we see this in is when he gets the chance to entertain and help soldiers like himself who have come out of battle injured and he doesn’t think twice about it. This links back to mindfulness because he looks at little things in life and he always stays true to himself and everyone else. Forrest escapes the realities of the real world and I think that the director is telling the audiences that sometimes that can have a positive outcome throughout life
Forrest has an unusual viewpoint on his time in Vietnam. During the film, he said, “We took long walks and were always looking for this guy named Charlie.” Forrest’s view of the war shows that although he was fighting voluntarily he didn’t know what he was fighting for. I believe that this is an important message the director is trying to portray, because one side of the fence there are the people who are all for war, and on the other, there are others like Forrest who are against or in the middle of it. We see positives and negatives of the war, for example, Forrest losing his best friend Bubba but him also getting a medal for saving many lives.
