You will write a 1000-1250 word Rhetorical Analysis of this piece of writing. https://www.mrmoneymustache.com/2018/01/02/why-bitcoin-is-stupid/Your essay will be thesis-driven, evidence-based argument that assesses the piece’s rhetorical effectiveness based on the rhetorical strategies used. You will discuss how the text is constructed, what strategies it uses, and how effectively it employs the appeals.  You can read with the grain to emphasize strengths, against the grain to point out weaknesses, or you can combine approaches, as long as you make your overall assessment clear via a strong thesis. You will also respond to the piece. What have you seen/lived through that can contribute to the conversation? You can agree or disagree with the author, but in either case you will need to support your assertions with evidence.
Remember this assignment will be composed of two major sections.
The first section will include:
a brief summary of the overall argument being analyzed, a thesis in which you make a claim about the essay’s effectiveness, and extensive examples (either quoted or paraphrased). You will write about how the writer builds the argument–is it persuasive towards the target audience? Does the argument use enough evidence? Does the argument use certain appeals to connect with the audience? How? Quote, paraphrase, or summarize directly from the essay to give evidence on how the writer uses rhetorical strategies. If the author’s strategies seem unsuccessful to you, then explain why and discuss what other rhetorical strategies might strengthen the argument.
The second section will include:
a response to what the author is saying. Where can you agree and where can you disagree? Can you show evidence of informed independent thinking? What personal examples can you include to support your points? This section will highlight your own contributions to the conversation this piece engages in.  You’ll need to demonstrate authority, as evidenced by your understanding of the rhetorical elements in the essay, as well as your use of rhetorical strategies to persuade your point.
Your essay should use hyperlinks. As per your syllabus, the paper should be double spaced and use 12pt Times New Roman Font.
Your audience is other composition students and instructors.
