As you’ll read in your text, Sophocles added a third actor to his productions for submission to City Dionysia. That doesn’t mean there are only three characters, it means that only three characters (other than the chorus) are on stage at one time. An actor would play more than one character in the production of the play.

Then you will write a 2-3 page (single-spaced) essay in a 12 pt standard font (Times New Roman, Ariel, etc…)
In your essay, you will give a brief analysis of the play (not just what happens, but what it’s about, what is the message of the play) and then select a fantasy cast of three actors.
For each actor you will write:
What characters they are to play and why they are a good choice for that role.
You’ll need to make sure that the characters they play do not appear on stage at the same time for example the character playing Antigone cannot play Creon as they have many scenes together.
