Learning Goal: I’m working on a white papers discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.At the end of the semester, you will complete either a short video or written paper assignment designed to showcase your ability to apply course concepts in answering the big questions this class investigates. The general prompt is the same for either the video or paper option. For this assignment, identify a social media platform that you regularly use (Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, Snapchat, etc.). Reflect on your interactions on the platform, specifically with regards to race. How has your own racial identity impacted your experiences? In what ways have your participation in this class influenced your understanding of race on this platform? What are your impressions of how people from different racial groups might experience this virtual space? Since no racial group is monolithic, you could also discuss intra-racial differences in experiences. Think about the structure of the virtual space, racial representations, and any specific interactions you have been a part of or observed. Feel free to include evidence as well (screenshots, images, videos, etc.) that aid in your reflection; these pieces of evidence do not count towards page limits for the written option (but don’t go crazy).Final Paper Option – 3-5 page paper3-5 pages (double spaced), 1″ margins all around.

Written in Microsoft Word with your name, date, course information, and assignment title on a separate title page.
In addition to the content, you will be graded for correct grammar and spelling.
You NEED citations: you may use outside sources, but you must have at least 4 distinct sources from class (3 must be readings), and you can either do overlays on your video or reference them verbally.
Feel free to use any citation format you wish (e.g. APA, ASA), as long as it is consistent throughout.
You should include a separate references page at the end.
Title page and references page do not count towards page limit.
