this project is divided to three parts: Expectations, data, final report
now this order is just for the first part, expectations, i’ve upload all the information about the three parts of this project, please take what’s useful for the first part.
please let me know if you are condifent and available of doing the next two parts, incoulding data collection and final report. if so, what’s total price would be. the due for part two is Jul 18 at 11:59am, and for part three, the final report is Jul 25 at 11:59am.
DEVELOPING EXPECTATIONS:
Before you begin collecting your data, develop theoretical expectations about what similarities and/or differences you will expect to find when you compare the data from your two news sources.
Students should post their expectations and references to Canvas by the deadline in Microsoft Word format.
Expectations (about 2 pages double-spaced)
Which sources did you study? How did you select your sources?
How do the audiences of these two sources differ? It is your job to find the relevant information. Demographic information of readers can be found online, often at the source. Search terms such as “media kit” and “audience profile” often bring up the relevant information. Use this demographic data to inform your expectations. Here’s a helpful link! http://www.people-press.org/ (Links to an external site.)
Given these audience differences, what are your expectations about the coverage from each of these sources with regard to the variables to be collected in Part 2? Be sure to draw from relevant academic readings from the course (you should cite at least a few). The better you use these readings to generate expectations, the better your grade will be. It’s fine to focus here on two or three of the variables you will be coding for (e.g., topic, bias), but you should be specific about the variables in your work. Remember to cite all sources and include a reference page at the end. Papers may draw from lecture material but should cite their source when doing so. When citing chapters from the Graber reader, make sure to reference the name of the authors, not just Graber (Graber is the editor).
References:
Use the Chicago Manual reference style, which requires in-text parenthetical citations and a references page at the end. For more details on the Chicago citation style, go here: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/chicago_manual_17th_edition/chicago_style_introduction.html (Links to an external site.)
You are welcome to work with ONE partner on the CAP assignments. If you do, please have just one of you submit each assignment (Expectations, Data, Final Report) with both your names on it. (Having two people submit the same report will lead to havoc and stressed-out TAs.)
