This is an exercise with the objective that the student will use critical thinking to apply the CFIM to a fictional family from one of the case studies posted. The student will choose one case study and identify a nursing diagnosis for the family. Then the student will choose four (4) of the eight (8) examples of interventions in Chapter 4 of Wright & Leahey:
Commending family and individual strengths
Offering information and opinions
Validating, acknowledging or normalizing emotional responses
Encouraging the telling of illness narratives
Drawing forth family support
Encouraging family members to be caregivers and offering caregiver support
Encouraging respite
Devising rituals
For each intervention chosen, the student will create a nursing comment or activity to fit each of the cognitive, affective and behavioral domains. Complete the assignment using the Case Study Assignment Table and submit it using the link at the top of this module page (saved as CaseStudyDoeJ).

Guidelines and Grading Criteria:
Nursing Diagnosis (10 pts)
Interventions (22.5 points each x 4 interventions)
Activity for cognitive, affective, and behavioral domains for each of the four interventions with cited scholarly rationale (7.5 points x 12)
