RESPOND TO THOS STUDENT 50-100 WORDS

Explain the four primary traits that determine the value of information. “The US government is a major producer of economic and financial data, statistics, analysis, and forecasts that are gathered, compiled, and published as public goods for use by citizens, government agencies, researchers, nonprofits, and the business community.” (Cromwick & Coronado, 2019). Government data is a good source of free information that is governed, is timely, of quality information and is analytical in nature. This makes it a prime source for valuable outside information. The four primary traits that determine the value of information are:
Information Type: There are two main types of information gathered. Transactional: This information is gathered every time a sale is made or a service is utilized. Think of a retail store and the logbook for all sales and return tracking what sells and does not, during different times of the year. The information is used to make business decisions. Analytical: This is all of the information about the business as a whole and is used in a managerial sense, for example the analytical data for a retail store could show whether there is enough support opening a second store in a certain region. You would utilize the transactional data to show that the sales in a zip code could support more stores but you would also use the median household income for the area the cost of labor and rent and a market analysis to determine if it would be a good fit as a whole. While still being business information it is of a more managerial sense. Information Timeliness: is important in situations or fields where it matters, real estate may be a years worth while stock trades changes daily. When timeliness is important, it is as important the quality of the information. Information Quality: The most important factor. Bad information or inconsistency in the information is worse the not having because it can make an entire data set worthless Information Governance: Governance is about policy and process. Any company using data should create its on processes on how to take, store, access, maintained and used.

Taylor Madison was recently elected to a position as county supervisor in Blackacre County. As part of his campaign, he assured the voters of Blackacre County that he would “remove the scourge of dangerous dogs from our safe community.” This campaign pledge was a response to an incident last year where a dog escaped an enclosure and seriously injured a little boy who had been throwing rocks at the dog. Though the breed of dog was undetermined, Mr. Madison found that villainizing pit bulls seemed to be popular with voters. Now that he has been elected, he found the other county supervisors are also in favor of banning dangerous breeds of dogs from Blackacre County, especially pit bulls.

Instructions:

Mr. Madison has asked you to do some research on other jurisdictions that have banned specific breeds of dogs. He wants to know if their efforts have been successful and how those bans have been received by those communities. He would also like you to find at least two examples of a model code that he can use as an example for his own breed specific legislation in Blackacre County. Be sure to consult primary legal authority for the model code examples, but secondary legal authority is acceptable for general research on breed specific legislation.

1: Think about an example of a leader with whom you have worked who has effectively motivated a group. What do you think she or he did and why it was effective? Alternatively, provide an example of a leader who was ineffective at motivating others. Why do you think he or she was ineffective? Make some suggestions as to how things could have been done differently to make the situation more effective.

2: Our textbook guides students toward using a process-oriented approach to professional writing and communication. What does it mean to use a “process-oriented approach”? Why is this approach advantageous? Let’s also discuss strategies that we can use during each step of the process.

3: Over the last 50 years, the United States labor economy has changed from a manufacturing to service and technology focus. Other than the obvious changes, such as fewer mine tragedies and more carpal tunnel syndrome, what other trends in employment safety do you predict, and what is your evidence for that prediction? How should companies respond? How would you respond? Why?

4: Some people like to read books, while others like to watch or play sports. Clearly, everyone prefers some activities over others. Why do you think this is? Could genetics play a part in determining what people like to do for entertainment?
