Introduction
For a long time, sports have been viewed as a way to stay healthy and in shape, but their importance goes much further. Studies have shown that exercise increases blood flow to the brain and helps the body build more connections between nerves, leading to increased concentration, enhanced memory, stimulated creativity, and better-developed problem solving skills. In short, playing sports helps your brain grow and makes it work better. Although sports have so many benefits, there are more and more studies showing that nowadays college students have less and less sports.

The article aims to analyze the situation of college students’ sports, talk about the benefits of sports to students and give advice to students and school.
The Current Situation of College Students’ Sports
I have designed and distributed a questionnaire about college students’ sports because there is few data about the current situation of college students’ sports on the Internet. And I put the result of the questionnaire at the end of the article.
According to the result of my questionnaire, I can make some convincing conclusions. From the data we can know 21.74% students almost don’t do any exercise in their daily life, which is not good for their health. What’s more important is that 78.26% students who usually do sports do sports less than one hour every day. Some studies have shown that teenagers should do sports at least one hour each day .In addition, 88.26% students don’t exercise because they have no time to do it.
Too much lessons and homework make them stressful, and even take all of their time.
The Benefits of Sports to College Students
First, raise your heart rate. Any type of exercise that increases heart rate improves circulation. If you want to incorporate more cardio exercise into your day, consider taking up running, swimming, kickboxing, skipping rope, and skiing. Second, pump your blood with resistance. Both aerobic and anaerobic exercise improves circulation, but studies have shown that anaerobic or resistance exercise shows a greater increase in circulation. Third, amp up resistance training. Your circulation improves through consistent resistance training, making it an important component of a workout. In addition to that, exercising is a great way to get out of the stressful college life that is all about homework, presentations, and group projects. In fact, playing sports helps students relax and reduce their anxiety. Health care professionals recommend physical activity as a key ingredient to any stress-management activity. Because exercise pumps more oxygen through your blood and makes your entire system more active, the benefits of playing sports actually include giving you more energy to accomplish everything else you need to do to manage your busy college schedule. Besides just being fun, sports can help you perform better in school, relax more and worry less, deal with setbacks, work better with others and increase your energy — all of which helps you balance school and everything else going on in your life.
The Advice to College Students and School
In order to help students stay healthy and improve their learning efficiency, I suggest college students to spend more spare time to have Aerobic exercise, which can keep them healthy and will not make them exhausted when they finish a lot of lessons and homework. Above all, I think school should arrange at least one hour time to let students exercise after class.
Conclusion
Sports are so important to college students that they should do it every day. Sports have so many benefits that it can do benefit to students in almost all respects. But the current situation of college students’ sports shows that the time college students use to exercise is not enough. College students should spend more free time to exercise, and school should also arrange more time for students’ sports.
