ABC Enterprises is a growing company in which employees must frequently drive company vehicles to meet clients for business purposes. Travel is only within a 2-hour radius of the main office, but employees frequently find themselves on the road for lunch and/or dinner. Currently, each employee is allotted 35 dollars each day to cover meals on the days when they travel to meet their clients. The money is just for the employees’ meals (there is a separate budget if they take their clients out). They are also reimbursed for gas/mileage out of a separate budget. Employees have complained that this food allowance is not enough, especially when traveling to some of the more costly areas. A survey was taken to get recommendations for a new allotment. The response rate to the survey was about 55% of the employees at the company.

It’s just a “mess of numbers” at this time. This week’s discussion task is to find a way to make the data meaningful and draw AT LEAST TWO conclusions from the data.
The task:
Explain what you believe is most important when creating a table, graph, or figure for a presentation in a business setting.
Examine the ways that information is organized in the chapters for this week. Pick one that you think will work best for this data set.
Use EXCEL to create your graph, table, chart, or figure. Remember that good charts and graphs clearly communicate information to the viewer. They include titles, axis labels, legends (etc.).
Explain WHY you chose the method that you did after examining all your options. Why is your choice appropriate? What types of figures did you eliminate from consideration, and why?
State at least two conclusions that a viewer should draw immediately by viewing your graph, table, figure, or chart. How can the company use these conclusions?
