Social change does not happen overnight, nor does it always happen the way organizations think it will. Learning the powerful lesson related to how to make a difference through the work that one does is an important part of understanding CSR and creating meaning for others, enough sometimes to gain their support.

Drawing from Audrey Choi’s Ted Talk, How to Make a Profit While Making a Difference, which advocates for how to make a difference, choose one statement to either support or take issue with. Share the statement, your stance regarding the statement, and the rationale for your choice.
Explain how you, as an HR professional, might use lessons learned from this talk and the statement you chose to make a change at your organization—one that is important to you and could contribute to the organization’s commitment to CSR.
