Business Finances & Planning

Create a budget spreadsheet estimate costs on a monthly basis for a twelve month, include:

1. Outgoings, incomings, your hourly rate, makeup kit, travel costs, phone costs, hair kit, travel costs, phone costs, advertising and other relevant expenditures

2. How many hours are you able to work in a week? Adjust your hourly rate if necessary

3. How many hours work will you require weekly to meet your expenses?

4. What are the risk factors to maintaining a financial income? The name of an accountant who will submit your annual tax returns (submit their details as your ‘specialist advice’).

5. What are the challenges to working as a freelance makeup artist? What is the cost to your quality of life?

6. Create an invoice for your services to give to clients.

1. Find a job via online employment service (ie SEEK) for a makeup artist / beauty advisor. Submit a copy of the advertisement and detail your availability for the position.

2. Create a CV / resume which includes: personal details, skills summary, list of credits, job history, referees and cover letter on personalized letterhead

3. List the pay scale for the retail position, summary of the skills required and hours of work.

4. What is the minimum retail hourly wage you are prepared to receive for your skills and knowledge (work)?

5. Create a business only Facebook page or another form of digital media

6. Create a business bio include services and pricelist.

7. Create a customer satisfaction survey for ‘the clients’ to complete.
