Throughout the term, you will explore many topics to expand your cultural competency by discussing company culture, difficult conversations, diversity, and inclusion. Thoroughly understanding these concepts will play an important role in your professional career.
In this assignment, you will complete an activity based on a topic that interests you or you want to explore in more detail this term. I have created several options to choose from below to fit your interests and schedules.
Step 1: Review the activity options below and select one of interest to you
Step 2: Complete the activity
Step 3: Submit your reflection and include the following:
The name of the activity you completed
The descriiption of the activity
Why you selected the activity
Your two main takeaways (include detail and depth in your responses)
Option 2: Explore Your Family History
We will talk about how your background and experiences have influenced how you see and interact with the world throughout the term. In this activity, you will reach out to a family member to learn more about your family history to gain new perspectives. Think of this as an opportunity to learn more about where you come from and how you think it has influenced your life.
In your reflection, discuss the questions you asked and the insights you gained. Your conversation should be at least 45 minutes in length.
Option 3: Create Your Own Learning Lab Activity
I am a firm believer in you being able to select activities that bring value to your learning. By seeking out your opportunities, you can find the most relevant and helpful things for you. If you want to do something different than the options above, send me an email and I will review and approve it.
Examples –
Maybe you have a book on your “must-read” list around the topics of this course that you haven’t had the chance to read yet.
Maybe you want to attend a cultural event.
Maybe you want to take an online training focused on topics of this term. (training must equal at least 1 hour)
