What happens when companies refuse or are slow to adapt new technologies?
Kodak literally invented photography and digital format but was extremely slow to adopt digital prints. (because they made billions annually from Kodachrome film; today Kodak’s revenue stream from film is gone and they a not a player in the digital photo world.
Is the same disruptive technology happening with books and magazines?
Kindle, (1stto market) by Amazon and then Ipad by Apple are making libraries, newspapers and magazines wireless and accessible 24/7.

Discussion Questions:

Do you use a kindle? (I didn’t used kindle, but I have used E-book on iPad)
What do you find impressive about the product?
Will H.S. /college students be required to carry a Kindle/ iPad devise rather than a stack of books in the near future?
The high cost of paper books maybe near an end?
Will the book companies adopt or try to fight it, what can they learn from Kodak?

Has anyone in the class had a personal experience with this kind of surgery? This is a more robust post and encourages interaction. It would receive full points.
