Governmental organizations utilize non- governmental organizations to help achieve objectives nationally and internationally. Government organizations rely more on non-governmental organizations than governmental organizations. The first non- Governmental agency that will be discussed will include Black water. Known today as ACADEMI, this organization has contributed to the Iraqi war by assisting the United States in the War against Terrorism. ACADEMI, is funded by private investors and is comprised of highly trained, combat ready men and women that work with the Department of Defense, Navy and Law Enforcement agencies throughout United States. ACADEMI, Founded by former Navy SEAL Erik Prince, was tarnished by a string of high-profile incidents, including a deadly 2007 shootout in Iraq that ultimately led to its reorganization and re branding Hodge, N. (2011, Dec 12).. The second Non-governmental agency up for discussion involves the organization Triple Canopy, Triple Canopy is comprised of former law enforcement officers and former special operation soldiers. Founded in 2003, Triple Canopy delivers security and protection solutions such as surveillance and tactical to governments and private corporations worldwide Triple canopy partners ((2007, Jan 23). Lastly, based out of Ireland the Seneca Group is broken down into categories that include Seneca training, cash management and risk management services. These services or provided to State federal and local agencies upon request.

Wrong Doing by Private Organizations

Although private organizations contribute to governmental agencies, these agencies have also contributed negatively as well and should not be relied upon to achieve international and national goals. Another form of non-governmental involvement includes private jails and prisons. These for-profit facilities often carry a negative persona and are not always favorable to society and the criminal justice system.For example, a non-favorable example to negative contribution by private prisons includes the financial exploitation of prisoners in France and the US throughout much of the nineteenth century due to a labor shortage Brown, A. (1994). Ethical concerns within non-governmental organizations still exist, damages society, goal achievements. Ethical concerns, makes it more difficult to put trust into private organizations as they continue to cut corners, increase profit while ignoring the rights of inmates. As a recommendation More stipulations should be placed in non- governmental organizations seeking to help governmental organizations achieve their yearly goals.

Conclusion

Non- governmental organizations have played a major role in national and international issues. ACADEMI, Triple Canopy, and The Seneca Group continue to aid governmental agencies nationally and internationally. Non-governmental police and security forces should not be used in conjunction with governmental organizations and governmental agencies should not be allowed to freely request them without higher approval. Upon the need for these organizations, Non-governmental agencies should be accredited to operate in the United states and internationally and should only be requested by specific government agencies based off extreme need. Non-governmental organizations that are not accredited should be restricted and considered non reliable to government agencies. The use of private prisons creates a major problem for the criminal justice system and should be banned in the United States in my opinion. Non-governmental security forces will be more damaging than helpful in the future to come. Mark Civarella, a former judge accused of incarcerating juveniles for profit in the scandal “Kids for Cash” is a perfect example of what can possibly go wrong when utilizing or relying on for profit non-governmental organizations and why these restrictions and accreditation by the Department of corrections should be put in place. Having a accredited agency to eliminate partnership misunderstandings,offers ethical support opposed to non-ethical support.
