Respond to each of my professor’s post with a minimum of 125 words each. Be constructive and professional. 1. Post 1: Continuous updates to the strategic plan are important given the findings and results from the monitoring and controlling phases. By keeping up with the implementation and communication, it shows whether the plan is still applicable to the current condition or if it’s not supportive. Updating a plan can also allow agreements to be met and describe who will do what, when and how. Communication is very important in all organizations, big and small, and should involve all executives and their subordinates. By sharing ownership, it allows everyone to be part of the strategic plan. By implementing cooperation between all members, even large corporations can apply teams to their plans in an organized manner. The commitment of upper management ensures that the plan is supportive and feasible for the situation/condition. How can upper management show commitment to the plan? 2. Post 2: A significant percentage of the strategic plans fails. In some cases, it’s because of the presence of external elements that are out of our control. Secondly, plans fail because people or front-line employees are not trained properly so they do not know how to carry out the tasks that are part of the strategic plan and that are assigned to them. It is important for the strategic team and functional managers to provide the leadership and direction so employees are motivated, engaged and have a sense of ownership of the plan. Plans also fail because of inadequate planning. generally speaking, people do not like to plan. They believe that planning takes too much time and it does not get you anywhere… Our nature is to do and redo, with minor checks here and there until the big screwup takes place and we enter a panic mode. To avoid these issues, the team must take the time to define plans and tasks properly, assign tasks to those employees that have the right skill set, identify any competence gaps and provide the necessary training, establish a monitoring and control system and process from day one. The sooner variances are detected, the easier would be to correct them. What other recommendations do you offer so strategic plans are implemented successfully?
