Discussion: Approaching Change With Others
Change and improvement require a sound understanding of the current state of the institution. It is vitally important to understand the structure and processes that are currently in place, in order to know what needs to change. In the resources this week, Kuk (Chapter 18 in McClellan & Stringer, 2016) describes various organizational models and a systematic approach to evaluating the effectiveness of organizational design. Consider your own institution and how it compares with the organizational models you learned about this week. Also reflect on how the model may influence your approach to organizational changes in your institution.
