Question Description

Reflect on one of the parables of Jesus in the synoptic gospels (not an opinion paper)

Hint: List of parables can be found on Page 100 of Powell Text book. I suggest looking at one that has a longer length or is found in all three or two of the synoptic gospels.

What I am looking for?

-What is the metaphor symbolizing? What is the mundane/ordinary object(s) of the parable and to what spiritual truth does it point to?

– What does it say or tell about the audience?

– Is there a social or cultural change for the 1 century person?

– Make a theological statement based off the parable. In other words what does it say about God/Jesus or the Kingdom of God?

Objective of this reflection:

This Assignment is to help us textually analysis a parable from the Gospels for its theological implication to the Gospel community and the 1st century person.

3 Pages, Double Spaced (MLA- Format)

Shouldn’t need any outside sources. If you do please cite in a bibliography. If strictly only using the text books use in-text citation.

Example: (Matt. 5:2-5) or (Powell, 100)
