Font size should be easy to read in the body and larger for the
headers (to grab our attention)

The font should be consistent throughout the project (unless
it’s to stress a point)
·
The font must be visible against the background.
·
Don’t use a light font on a light color background or dark font
on a dark background.
Format:
·
Background or themes must be professional, not too loud.
·
Pictures must bring something to the topic, watch out for
copyright (I try to place references in the note pages on my slides)
·
Weblinks must open for anyone reading the slides (not just
you)
·
Don’t make the slides too busy – too much on a slide can make it
hard to read.
·
Don’t make the slides too plain – you don’t want the reader to
fall asleep.
The Final Project:
·
Your PowerPoint presentation should be editable so that I can
give feedback.
·
Long enough to comprehensively address all the important
information. Generally, 8 to 10 slides.
·
You still need to follow the outline for the paper (the slides
will not have as much information on them as a term paper but will include the
same basic information as a paper).
·
If you need to add information, but you don’t have the room on
the slides, or it is too busy, use the notes area at the bottom of the
slide.
