Analysis of Current Sexual Minority Clinical Supervision Models for use in the Development of a Kink Inclusive Supervision Model (to be Utilized by Supervisors Overseeing Clinicians who work with Kink Identified clients)
Supervision models have become more inclusive in their training and supervision of clinicians who identify as and work with LGBTQ+ clients, however little has been done with the inclusion of working with Kink Identified Clients and Kink Identified Clinicians-in-training. This paper intends to utilize current Sexual Minority Supervision Models as well as TASHRA’s Core Competencies to develop a Supervision Model that is inclusive of the additional needs that both Kink Identified Clients and Clinicians experience in the therapeutic process.
Directions for Remainder of Paper and Conclusion
-The first part of the Paper is in the file (chapter 1 and 2) so it will need to flow with that.
-Using the Thesis, Introduction and Literature review, along with the PowerPoint presentation I have created (It is my own work on PowerPoint) and the articles I have provided for all of the above (I have duplicated some of them into this request for writer), complete the remaining body and conclusion of the paper focusing on the importance of each step of supervision and the process (outlined in my power point) of providing clinical supervision that is Kink inclusive. Focusing on the importance of considering the associated stigmas, health disparities and intersections that Kink Identified individuals experience (whether they are the clinician being supervised or the client that the supervised clinician is providing therapy to) and how that would relate to being in Supervision, motivations and skill level of Supervisors, the process of identifying goodness of fit with Supervisee and Supervisor, understanding learning styles and incorporating Integrative Affirmative (or Feminist or Multicultural) into the Supervision process. Focus on marketing being a Kink Knowledgeable Supervisor may be addressed as well. Additional references for Supervisory guidelines may be found through NBCC, AAMFT, NASW, CACREP, ACA, etc however those generally only address the basic requirements of supervision for many education programs and completion of said programs. This portion of the paper is primarily using the research that has been sited, as well as any additional research that is relevant to Clinical Supervision and goodness of fit, Supervision contracts between clinicians and guidelines. I believe there are also some articles referenced in the powerpoint that could also be utilized.
-I have also included a couple of other articles such as the one on Clinical Supervision in Substance Abuse treatment that may be helpful in discussion of the process of Supervision (not there is no need to focus on the Substance Abuse aspect of the Supervision). The included articles can be used, or if other more relevant articles are found, they all don’t have to be used.
-I am also happy to provide the other articles that have been cited in the Introduction and Literature review if writer doesn’t have access to previous order files.
Just a note:
-My dissertation is not an actual research topic, but more of a meta-analysis of current Clinical Supervision styles that appear to be most inclusive of Sexual and Gender Minorities (including Kink Identification in that category) and a recommendation of a Kink Inclusive Supervision Style that I have developed through this meta-analysis and through professional experience (included in my PowerPoint). To reflecting this in the remainder of the body and the conclusion of the paper is important.
