words
Respond to one of the
following questions and include a minimum of two peer reviewed articles as
supporting evidence.
1: You are
the nurse assigned to care for clients in a rural hospital which consists of
in-patients as well as an emergency department. You are working with one
additional RN and an LPN. You are about to do midnight rounds when the
ambulance radio informs you that a trauma is on the way. The trauma is a
roll-over with one client semi-conscious and the other deceased on route.
Identify your steps in this situation upon the arrival of both clients to your
ER. Explain your decisions and identify the priority of tasks to the working
staff.
2: Rural nursing is a specialty of its own. Nurses
train to become experts in their field. With rural nursing, nurses can deliver
babies, hold the hand of a palliative client, take care of trauma clients, and
become involved with minor surgeries and procedures. As a result of the wide
diverse knowledge base that rural nurses must develop to stay competent,
provide examples of a tool-kit that can be used in rural nursing. What are some
“tools” that you would like to see if you were to take a position in
rural Setting?
