Practice 2: Using Word
Introduction: In practice 1, we introduce the text editor “Notepad”, which is a pure text editor that does not contain format or controls other than change of lines and tab. Modern Word Processing Software relies on controls and format information such font color, font size, line break, page break, section break, margin and indent, columns, borders, line spacing, position. A text equipped with those formatting information will become a Word document. In this practice, you are asked to create a document in Microsoft Word.
Purpose: This practice helps you understand the formatting part of a document. You will create a Word document that contains some of the formatting.
Instructions:
Open a blank Word document
copy contents in this practice and paste into that word document.

Click on “insert” on menu bar and add a “cover page”. Your document will now have two pages. Add some contents on the “cover page”.
Also click on the “insert” on the menu bar, and add “header”, “footer” and “page number” to your document.
Also click on the “insert” on the menu bar, and add a “text box” to the second page.

Now click on “design” on the menu bar, and add “watermark”, “page color” and “page borders”.
Also click on “design” on the menu bar, and choose a “theme”.
