What is the “truth,” as she explains it?

Retzlaff and Zanzot equate the highways with racist monuments in our cities. What evidence do they use to back up this asertion?
Cars provide a lot of benefits to us as individuals. But collectively, cars — and the highways they are driven on — directly or indirectly inflicted (and continue to inflict) a lot of harm on cities and their people. Drawing from the documentary and the two Metropole readings, identify and explain six ways highways harmed cities or the people who lived in them. Include evidence to back up your statements. Make sure to tell me where your point comes from.
