I’m studying and need help with a Law question to help me learn.
The purpose of this assignment is to examine two juxtaposing ethical behaviors that occur in the criminal justice and security professions. For example, investigating officers are not only allowed, but are even encouraged, to lie and use deception during an investigation or interrogation process as a means of obtaining the truth and ultimately justice. This is an ends-justify-the-means, borderline ethical practice that shows the pragmatic difference between deontological and ontological ethics.
Write a 275- to 350-word analysis of deception in the investigative and interrogative processes. Consider the following questions:
Is it ethical to lie to obtain to the truth? Do the ends justify the means? Is there a conflict between the code of ethics and how law enforcement is actually conducted?Answer the two questions about culture
I need help with a Sociology question. All explanations and answers will be used to help me learn.
1. Miner showed us how we would appear to outsiders who are ethnocentric and Chagnon
takes an extremely ethnocentric approach in his study of the Yanamamo people. Using
these two articles and other examples you can think of, explain why it is important for us
to understand and practice cultural relativism and not be ethnocentric in our approach to
other cultures.
2. Dyer says that turning a civilian into a soldier is like a religious conversion. What does
he mean by this? What does he use to support this point? Do you agree? Why or why not?
Each of your answers should be around 300 words for a total of approximately 600
words.
