ou have been provided with four journal articles that include experiments on stereotype threat. You are to write a 2-3 page, cohesive paper about stereotype threat that summarizes three of the four journal articles. To reiterate, you only need to include three of the four journal articles in your paper, so feel free to choose the ones that you find the most interesting. This assignment will show if you can engage with primary sources (journal articles) and provide you with an opportunity to communicate scientific literacy in your summarizing of those articles.
Here’s what needs to be included in your paper
The introduction. The opening paragraph should identify the theory being discussed (stereotype threat) and provide a definition for it. Your definition should come either from your textbook or from one of the articles. Make sure you cite the source for your definition using an APA style citation (Messick, 2022). Provide some more background on stereotype threat and explain that your paper will summarize some literature exploring it in different contexts.
The body. You should have separate paragraphs for each journal article that you discuss. For each journal article, describe what the stereotype being primed was, what the experiment was, what were the different conditions in the experiment, and what the result was from the experiment. The key thing here is to be able to describe the experiment(s) that were conducted. Refer to each article by the name of the authors and the year that it was published (Messick, 2022). You do not need the name of the articles in the body of your text.
The conclusion. Summarize the material covered in the articles by talking about general trends and implications and about stereotype threat. What kinds of situations might be influenced by stereotype threat? What are some ways that the articles suggest can be used to overcome stereotype threat?
References. There should be a final page with APA style references. The references should include your three journal articles in alphabetical order.
Your paper should be formal and objective, with correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar. You should be paraphrasing the articles in your own words, so do not use quotes.
