Stages of Team Development:
Select two of the four stages of team development. For each stage, identify a potential inadequacy and suggest a strategy to overcome or minimize this inadequacy for that stage. Include at least one citation in your initial post and include it as a reference at the bottom.
Do not post one long paragraph in your initial post: break your initial post into a few shorter paragraphs to make it easier to read and follow.
Initial post: Provide at least one citation in your initial post and 200 word count minimum is required for this discussion initial post. You must fully address the questions and also provide a meaningful reply to your classmate by the deadlines for full points.
Stage1: Forming — the team is created and organized.
Team members get to know one another, establish first impressions
Begin to gauge time and energy needed to expend on the team tasks.
Stage 2: Storming — introduction of conflict/disagreement between team members
The team begins to outline what the group should look like — What goals should we pursue: How should we pursue them.
Opinions will differ in how to accomplish goals.
Successful teams are able to deal with task and relationship conflict effectively.
Stage 3: Norming — agreement on group goals as well as how to best accomplish those goals
Team members understand their role as well as the roles of others in the group.
Stage 4: Performing — commitment to goals as well as one another leads to highest levels of performance
Stage 5: Adjourning — team disbands.
Must use APA 7 in 3rd person format (Ex: instead of I use this researcher, this student, he/she, etc).
