This assignment requires an expert in SPSS and quantitative methodologies.
-Please refer to the PDF file :(Assignment #2A – Hands-on Practice) and answer the Question: Is the empirical analysis (interpretation) correct? Were the data analysis techniques appropriate? Please justify your answers.

-I was able to find the original article that has the analysis of the question. Please check the PDF file (Directional distance function DEA estimators for evaluating efficiency gains from possible mergers and acquisitions). I think the answer to the question is also there.
-I also uploaded the class notes that include the test used in this question (Wilcoxon test). Please refer to the PDF file (Wilcoxon).
-To answer the question, please do the following:
1) In the dataset (excel sheets) we have two “Related samples” for each year (2014,2015, & 2016) for each group of banks (Conventional & Islamic). Which makes 6 datasets that require to run the Wilcoxon test. Please follow the class notes to run the Wilcoxon test in SPSS 6 times for each of the following:

1- Sample 1 (Actual) vs Sample 2 (Actual & Virtual) in 2014
2- Sample 1 (Actual) vs Sample 2 (Actual & Virtual) in 2015
3- Sample 1 (Actual) vs Sample 2 (Actual & Virtual) in 2016
Islamic Banks:
1- Sample 1 (Actual) vs Sample 2 (Actual & Virtual) in 2014
2- Sample 1 (Actual) vs Sample 2 (Actual & Virtual) in 2015
3- Sample 1 (Actual) vs Sample 2 (Actual & Virtual) in 2016
2) Please report the output tables from SPSS, analysis and interpretation. Please use the same method used in the class notes to analyse.
3) As per the class notes, if we have 2 related samples and an unbalanced design>> we should use Wilcoxon test. Meaning that the test is appropriate yet requires some enhancements>> The enhancements are mentioned in the file (Assignment #2A – Paper). Maybe it’s the bootstrap? Or adopting the Li et al. (2009) version of this test amended with Algorithm II from Simar & Zelenyuk (2006) . Please find the answer from the article to suggest an enhancement to the test.
