    According to the Office of Professions, each provision of service should be documented on paper or electronically. What are the essential elements, tools, and organized order of your personal program book? And which method, paper, pencil, or electronic, would you use for your future practice and why?

    A program book should have a sign-in sheet, current behavior plans, functional assessments and protocols, data sheets including manding and NET data sheets, graphs, all current programs, any previously mastered programs, session notes, and supervision notes (ideally in that order). All of these documents should be kept in a binder, equipped with blank pages, dividers, and writing/highlighting utensils (I Love ABA!, n.d.).
    I currently use both CentralReach and Catalyst to take data and it is much preferred to paper data. However, there have been many occasions where the Wifi went down and I was pleased to have access to a physical binder where I could document the session and refer to protocols in times of need. For the future, I will continue to use electronic ABA data collection software but will keep an updated treatment book on hand for days when technology fails.
