Assignment 1: Social Responsibility and Positive Social Change Leadership

Not all change is good change, and sometimes even the most well-intentioned efforts fall short. As a leader, it is critically important to consider every angle when planning to implement positive social change initiatives. Without a framework in place for ensuring that initiative will benefit its intended recipients (or, in some cases, society at large), there are risks that the effort may cause more harm than good. That is where the principle of social responsibility comes into play. In this Assignment, you will apply the concept of social responsibility to your own leadership of positive social change.

To prepare for this Assignment:

Review the Learning Resources on social responsibility and positive social change leadership. Think about efforts you may have participated in (or could participate in) that had a mission of social responsibility, such as an adopt-a-road project to clean litter from a highway or a fundraiser for a worthy cause. You may also have ideas for efforts you have led or could lead. If you were to take on such a project, what obstacles might you need to overcome in that process? How would you anticipate risks to address them before they became challenges?

Refer to the Academic Writing Expectations Checklist as you compose your Assignment.

By Day 7

Submit a 250- to 500-word essay illustrating how you can lead positive social change through social responsibility. You could write about something you have already accomplished in your life or brainstorm a new idea for some type of project or set of actions that will promote positive social change in your local community, your job, or throughout the world. Remember, no idea is too big or too small! In your essay, be sure to address the following:

What does it mean to be a socially responsible leader?

What is your idea for one way that you could lead (or have led) positive social change through the idea that “awareness plus experience equals transformation” (TEDxTalks, 2015)?

As a socially responsible leader, what are the risks or possible challenges you need to consider when engaging in this type of change effort, and how will you (or did you) overcome those challenges or risks to ensure that the outcomes of your efforts are successful?

Be sure to include at least two specific references to sources (forms of evidence) to support your essay. As a reminder, this could include one or more of this week’s Learning Resources and/or an additional source of your choosing. Be sure to paraphrase, where possible, to demonstrate your understanding of the topic, and cite the original sources of the information you reference in your essay.History 115_ “Woman with Flag” (1975) by Arturo Singh
Help me study for my History class. I’m stuck and don’t understand.

In terms of the content of your discussion, I am looking for three main points of discussion. This discussion will satisfy the History Department’s Student Learning Outcome (SLO) assessment requirements. First, you will draft a thesis statement based on your observation of this mural. A thesis statement is something you would prove in a paper; a statement that can be supported by the mural you have reviewed. Your thesis statement should be about 5-6 sentences. In your thesis statement, address the following question: What was the artist’s objective in creating his/her mural and what does the mural reflect about the era in which this mural was created? For the second point of discussion, name and describe one cause or consequence of an event associated with this mural. In other words, what were some of the historical or political events of the era that contributed to the development of the mural, or what do you think was the political or cultural impact of the mural in Chicano Park, San Diego, the state of California, or for the overall Chicano Movement? About one good-sized paragraph, up to ⅔ of a page, double-spaced, will be sufficient for your response. And finally, for your third point of discussion, describe one historical individual involved in the event depicted in the mural and explain his or her significance in this event. In other words, why was this person significant? And by a historical individual, you may discuss the artist instead of any historical personalities presented in his or her mural. However, if there is a clear historical personality presented in the mural, I strongly encourage you to discuss that personality in your response. Even if the historical personality is a mythical figure, such as a god or goddess, you can discuss that too. About one good-sized paragraph, up to ⅔ of a page, double-spaced, will be sufficient for your response.Change the World Video Link and Reflection/Critique: nursing assignment help
I don’t understand this Communications question and need help to study.

Find a Change the World speech that resonates with you. An example (which should not be used) is Emma Watson’s HeforShe speech at the UN Women’s conference in 2014. You may also search for speeches on americanrhetoric.com, TED Talks, or google “best recent speeches” for inspiration

First, in a short introductory typed paragraph, provide a description of your chosen “Change the World” speech you plan to critique. Please use a speech from the last 20 years, from 2000 -2020. Who is speaking? What is the occasion, and where and when is this taking place? Why is this speech important enough that it qualifies as a potential “world-changing” speech? What’s the main issue at the center of this presentation?

Next, you will need to do two things:
Put a link to the video of the speech if you can find it online. If for any reason there is not a video, please attach a link to the transcript from the speech; however, please TRY to find a speech with a video. If your speech is longer than 10 minutes (and many addresses of this sort are), focus on a 10 minute segment. if you provide a link to the entire speech, be sure to mention which ten minutes you are focusing on. For the next part of the assignment, write a 2 page typed reflection and critique of the speech, focusing on the content, tone, and delivery, as well as the most memorable aspects of the speech. Be sure to mention Logos, Pathos, and Ethos from the Lesson. Include why you chose that speech and the effect it has had on you and the world. Submit to Canvas at the end of the week, by Sunday February 9th.Reflection Essay: nursing homework help
