Based on what you submitted in the Program Description and Rationale
assignment, choose one of your modified programs and create 3 marketing
resources for that program. Use 2335 as a reference for how to complete
all of the items.
In the text entry, please indicates what method you used
for your Program Description and Rationale assignment and what modified
program you are using to create the marketing material for.
Next submit the following, (These should be of your own creation):
(2.5 points) A flyer. In addition to resources from
2335 and the grading rubric for this assignment. You should refer to any
flyers that your agency has available to you for guidance and design
inspiration. Be sure to include all necessary program information such
as time, date, price, location, logo.
(5 points) A sponsorship letter. Be sure to use a professional letter format.
Limit it to one page.
Detail the event you are presenting to your potential sponsors. – may include mission, philosophy, goals and objectives
Briefly include a bit of background, history, and motivation from the standpoint of your agency.
Explain the mission and/or cause – the ‘why’ of the event.
Fully explain target market demographics, number of people you will reach, and benefits to the target market.
Share what is unique about this opportunity as opposed to others they
could sponsor. Sell the USP (unique selling point) of this event.
Tell your potential sponsor how this event can benefit them.
State your sponsorship opportunities
Clearly state the next steps they should take to becoming a sponsor
(2.5 points) A press release.
Use examples given in Lesson 5 or research your own examples to
complete an individual Press Release for your program. The grade will be
given on content, structure, grammar, professionalism, and attention to
detail.
Limit your headline to one sentence – it should tell what your press
release is about. Be Creative, but not at the cost of clarity or
accuracy.
Capitalize the first letters of all the words in your office.
Do not use an exclamation mark in your headline. You are reporting, not commenting.
Write your release in the third person. Think of it as a report being presented by a neutral observer.
The body of your copy should be no more than two paragraphs or 500 words.
The first sentence should connect with the readers and pique their curiosity. “The Hook”
The first paragraph should give all the critical information so if
the readers read no further they will know everything they need to know.
Include Who, What, When, Where, and Why.
The second paragraph should include details. Is there anything
special about your event? Are any celebrities or local personalities
involved? Sponsors or partners involved? Any sense of urgency for
signing up? Any historic value surrounding your event or activity?
Include sufficient and accurate contact information. Email, phone number, address.
Your agency logo should be present at the top of the press release.
Type PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT at the top of the page so the journalist immediately knows what she’s reading.
Indicate whether the announcement is for immediate release or for a
later release date. For example, you can type “For Immediate Release,”
“For Release on November 1, 2019” or “For Release On or After November
1, 2019.”
