In module 2, we explore different measures of disease burden and factors that contribute to differential risk of disease. The purpose of this assignment is examine variation in burden of disease across different countries with different GNI and explore some factors that might contribute to that variation. This is going to be a challenging assignment as you will be working with data that can be somewhat difficult to find. While you can find data through a simple Google search, those data may not be reliable. The links that we provide are reputable sources for data and should be used to complete this assignment.
Each week, you will be asked to complete a homework worksheet. Weekly HW relate to key concepts and ideas introduced in the module lectures and readings. The HW are a way to demonstrate your understanding/comprehension of the major concepts. Most of the HWs will ask that you include data or work with data tables. Global health is a scientific field that uses data to help form policy, keep an eye on health issues in communities and worldwide and allow us to evaluate effectiveness of health systems and interventions.
