Annotated Outline
Before you start your zine, you are required to complete an annotated outline.
You will be creating this annotated outline on a google doc or word document (not a PDF because it’s harder to comment on). This should be about 1 page long, no more than 2 pages. An annotated outline consists of :
Theme/topic of your zine:
Your topic must be related to the course topic: Gender, Race, and Popular Culture.
You can either choose to focus on one of the units we covered in class or you can write about another subtopic.
List 3-course sources and 1 external source (4 to‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌tal).
For each source describe why and how these are relevant to your project. Sources can include literature, media, art, films etc
Source 1:
Source2:
Source3:
Source4:
Sections/pages: These can be key points/takeaways, particular quotes, images, moments, people, videos, etc that you wish to highlight.
These do not have to be the final version, this is just a brainstorming of what you want your zine to look like and what you want to include, you can change these later.
I just want you to have an idea of the overall flow of your story.
Make sure to also include an introductory overview of the topic of your choice.
You may choose to end the zine with a personal reflection on how learning about these chosen topics relates to your own everyday l‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌ife
