people in your community including local policymakers, leaders and concerned
citizens
• You wish to address how your hospital would like to help the community address
the opioid crisis affecting the community and region and explain how the
community could help.
• This should be a speech, not a paper! I want to imagine that you are reading it
aloud to me.
• If you would like to submit it as a speech (mp3 file), that is an option! Record an

“comments” section of the submission. The speech should be 3-4 minutes long.
• 4 parts of this assignment—use the items below as
headers for each part—or name them if you give a
speech:
1. Provide a description/analysis of current
policies pertaining to the opioid crisis.
2. Explain some examples of opioid crisis that a
policy analyst may consider.
3. Provide 3–5 options to address the opioid crisis
in your community
4. Explain how you will evaluate the options listed
in #3 to know if they are working on not.
• The paper should be written in APA format, include
at least four references, and should be 3 pages in
length not including the title and reference page. Use
in-text citations for all references!
