RADING RUBRIC FOR SOCIOLOGY 1306 RESEARCH PAPER
Research Paper must be 8 pages (double space) typed in an APA format. A minimum of three sources are required.
Pick any topic related to Social Problems from the 16 chapters we are covering for the entire semester. You may choose any social theorists (ex.: Marx, Weber, Goffman, Tocqueville, Mead, Simmel, Charles Horton Cooley, Charles Darwin, Durkheim, W.E.B Dubois, Charlotte Perkins Gillman, Betty Friedan, etc.) or their theories (race and conflict, feminism, presentation of self, religion, etc.). You may focus on any relevant topics of social problems such as crime, poverty, culture, human behavior, overpopulation, racism, discrimination, war, etc.).
THE GRADING FORMAT IS BASED ON THE LEVEL OF ATTENTION, DISPLAY OF KNOWLEDGE, INTEREST, AND QUALITY. THIS ALSO INCLUDES:
Demonstrates strong or adequate knowledge of the topic; correctly represents knowledge from the readings and sources
Critical Analysis provides a strong critical analysis and interpretation
Sources or examples meet required criteria and are well chosen to provide substance and perspectives.
Demonstrates college-level proficiency in organization, grammar and Project is clearly organized, well written, and in proper format as outlined in the Project Paper must have strong sentence and paragraph structure; few errors in grammar and spelling. Please be wary of your grammar, use of vague language, contractions, and utilization of sentence and paragraph organization
Demonstrates proper use of APA style Project contains proper APA formatting, according to the APA Requirements, with no more than one significant error.
