Hi I need a disscusion post response that has to be 150 words and at least one source. This is for a Nursing related assignment. The discussion post I am responding to is the following:
******************PICOT format stands for patient population, intervention or issue, comparison intervention, outcome, and time frame. Taking a deeper dive into this acronym is key to understanding why it is so important. The P stands for patient population and whenever you think of patient population this is what kind of patients or in this scenario it could be a group or a single person. The I stands for intervention of interest and when you think of this you need to think of the question of what is the main treatment you want to consider or wish to. The C stands for comparison of intervention so this is where the Ryder looks up alternative treatments or interventions to compare it to to better understand what all treatments or interventions are available for that patient or group. The O stands for outcomes and whenever you think of outcomes you need to be able to understand what the clinical outcome or outcomes that occurred. The last letter is T and T stands for time with this one it is not required for the PICOT question but it is great to have it if available. PICOT questions are necessary in order to identify the best evidence and practice for patients.
Nursing practice problems are things that are seen during the assessment phase from the nurse on how the patient presents and focuses on the reason that the patient presents that way. For example whenever I’m in the emergency department, a patient presents with a severe sudden chest pain to the mid sternum and mid back this could be many things. As the nurse I need to think of a nursing diagnosis and be able to recognize that I need to have my emergency room doctor come by to assess this patient as soon as possible as this could be a medical problem needing early identification.
When it comes to a medical practice problem this concern or process is focus merely on the medical disease or condition of that patient. The medical practice problem is found by searches of causes, when the emergency department doctor finds out that this condition of the patient above with the chest pain that came on acutely and mid back pain is a AAA rupture. A medical practice problem is concerned with a medical disease or condition that is presented. Medical practice problems and nursing practice problems or different in a few ways such as in medical practice problem tries to identify what is outside of normal wall a nursing practice problem should see the current issue.
