Hello class,
Please ask any questions you have regarding the final project here (I prefer all questions come from the Team Leader)
As I explained, I am asking you to submit the final project (Sourcing Recommendation)
There is no reading for the final project. You will be working on sourcing recommendations based on what you learned in this class.
You have a commodity selected already.
Presentation- Record the presentation as a team using zoom with the camera on. 15minute time limit. Each member of your team needs to speak. The presentation needs to be uploaded in the Discussion for your classmates to have feedback. I am suggesting a 10-20 pages presentation. Upload your recorded presentation to the discussion board (so that your classmates can give you the feedback)
Case Analysis- 10-page case analysis not including references/any diagrams/data (10-page paper)
Both Presentation (PowerPoint)and the paper(word) are due on June 22nd
Feedback to your other team’s presentation is due June 26th (I expect all of you to give feedback on all other teams’ presentations)-I might ask you to submit feedback as a group for each team’s presentation.

So in the syllabus you call out reading a case and analyzing it in a case analysis. Since it appears we are not doing that, our case analysis is essentially the written portion for our final presentation? So we are going to be recording our presentation for our commodity selection as well as writing a paper with those same topic points?
Should we use this outline below for the presentation (taken from one of your recent announcements):
1. Introduction/Overview
2. Commodity Information-I want to see how your commodity is made and/or how it works, and what is it used for(example: production process etc. Flow chart is a bonus)
3. Supplier information-3 or more suppliers to compare (Any information/details about the suppliers you chose. Risk information, CSR, Innovations, supplier diversity, financial health, etc)
4. Global presence of the suppliers, any sub-supplier, and logistics information are plus.
5. Cost analysis-I want to see the details. More details the better. The more data the better.
6. Supplier Recommendation-I want to know why you selected this supplier. If you are going to dual source, you can but I need to know the reasons.
7. Conclusions
And then this outline for the written portion (taken from the syllabus):
Objective and Scope – in a few sentences identify the central objective and scope
of the case to be analyzed.
Recommendations – List your key recommendations in bullet point format – you
may number them if you wish.
Analysis – for each of the recommendations present your analysis. This will include
the logical analysis and your thought process. You can also present your analysis of
qualitative factors (risks, benefits, competitive structure, culture, strategy alignment,
etc) and quantitative information (cost analysis, NPV analysis, inventor levels,
productivity analysis, etc) which leads to the recommendation. It is preferable
present the analysis of each recommendation (with appropriate subheading) and
within those sub-levels for the points you wish to highlight.
Implementation plan – if the case calls for it present an implementation plan and
discussion of execution issues for your recommendations.
Appendix – this should consist of information which you have used in the analysis
but do not include in the write-up. For example: if you do an NPV analysis you may
paste the table in the appendix but only present the final numbers in your discussion
of the report.
