You should select an academic article or published evaluation report with findings from a program evaluation that was conducted with a program similar to the one your group is evaluating.
I already chose the article, I will upload it: article name is “A Program Evaluation: Equine‐Assisted Psychotherapy Outcomes for Children and Adolescents”
Your article review should be 2 pages in length (in addition to the article) and should include/address the following components. You should cite course readings in your article review, especially when responding to the components that invite your analysis (3b, 4, 5, and 6).
You only need to use bullet points to answer each question, no need to be an essay. Read articles and lecture I uploaded, don’t forget to CITE some course reading in (3b, 4, 5, and 6).
1. Copy of the article or report you are reviewing
*Note: In some cases, evaluation reports (especially those published electronically) are quite long. If this is the case, feel free to provide a link to the report.
2. Brief descriiption of the evaluation design:
a. Model (case study, paired samples, RCT, etc.)
b. Sampling strategy
c. Number of participants
d. Data collection methods, instruments, and time points
3. What the study is assessing:
a. Depending on the study:
i. Outcome evaluation: Are they assessing outputs, short-term outcomes, or long-term outcomes?
ii. Process evaluation: Are they assessing implementation? Conducting a component analysis? Tracking “dosage”?
iii. Cost study: How do they define cost? Are they measuring cost effectiveness? Cost/benefit?
b. At what level(s) are they measuring their indicators? (Individual, Family, Program, Community?) Is this appropriate?
4. What instruments and/or indicators are they using? Do you think these are appropriate? Why or why not?
5. What is something about this evaluation that you think is worth replicating in your evaluation plan? Why?
6. What is something about this evaluation that you think could be improved? Why?
