For this research paper you are going to invent an idea for a product. Then research the best way to market, promote, and distribute your made-up product. Your textbook is a great place to start, but outside research will need to be done. Wikipedia is NOT research. Google Scholar, EBSCO, and JSTOR are all acceptable places to find information for your research. Ensure that you are citing where you received the information from. If there is an idea that I know is not yours and you do not state where it came from, I will consider it cheating. Below is a list of things that you need to include in your paper. Have fun and learn something new!
Come up with a product (you can use an already created product, but I would prefer you to think outside the box)
Create a marketing mix for the product:
Define ideal customer (demographic, target audience, etc.)
Outline goals (this really depends on the product, be creative, and do research)
Pick a specific method that you think will market the product best to target market.
Develop a promotional mix for your product
Develop a distribution mix
APA formatting needs to be used, including an abstract. As a reminder, abstracts are summaries of the main ideas of the paper. I do not expect the abstract to be long, as they will not be counted towards the word count of your paper.
To do this project justice, this paper needs to be at least 1,000 words.
Please remember that this needs to be in essay form and not a list of items. If you need help please reach out, refer to the syllabus, contact the academic support center for writing, etc.

Here is the portion of the syllabus pertaining to written assignments.
Written Assignments
Students will be required to submit thorough essays (1,000 – 1,200) that answer all questions applying to the assignment and provided by the author. Do not submit as either a numbered Q&A or as a bulleted list of data, rather submit a completed written paper. It is in the best interest of the student to not wait until the last minute to work on and submit the writing assignments. The stress and feeling of being overwhelmed can be avoided by using time management and not procrastinating in the completion of the writing assignments.
Students should relate the case to the textbook materials and issues. It is recommended to do any Internet and/or library database research required prior to writing the response, multiple sources will add to the credibility of the paper. Ensure that proper grammar, sentence structure, and material citations are included for maximum point consideration. Neglecting to cite other authors’ original material is plagiarism and will be graded accordingly (see the Academic Honesty Section in the syllabus). Please include properly formatted reference pages with your written assignments. A minimum of two (2) reference sources in addition to your textbook are required.
Submit as an attachment in proper APA (American Psychological Association) format as a Microsoft® Word document using proper grammar, spelling, citations and reference pages.
