For this mini-analysis, you will need to locate a text that communicates through a means other than spoken or written words. Your text may include words, but its primary mode of communication should be visual, sonic (e.g., music), or gestural so that you can analyze the text beyond any linguistic message it offers.

You may use a wide variety of texts for this assignment, such as photographs, postcards, advertisements, posters, graffiti, movie trailers, music, dance performances, visual art, and more. If you get stuck or aren’t sure where to start, the following resources may be helpful, but don’t feel limited to these options.

Analyzes the relationship between the linguistic (if any) and nonlinguistic elements in the text. If your text has no linguistic elements, discuss the significance of that choice
