Guidelines for submissionof assignment

1. Assignment is an integral part of the evaluation system in ODL scheme.

2. Internal assessment weightage is 30% of the total marks for every descriptivepaper.

3. The eligibility criteria to appear for term end is based on the marks scoredintheassignment. Minimum marks to be scored in each assignment subject are 12out of30. 

4. Submission of two assignments per semester per subject is mandatory. Studentsarerequired to submit both the parts of the assignment. 

5. Each assignment comprises of two parts. A) Online MCQ B) Descriptive

6. Assignments shall be published in the students’ portal only. Therefore it is advisedto check your portals and emails regularly. 

7. Online MCQ assignment will be available in the portals for your future reference.

8. Handwritten assignments for descriptive form to be uploaded in PDF format. Diagrams and charts should be drawn precisely wherever applicable.

9. Assignments will be accepted only through the portal and submission throughanyother means will not be considered. 

10.A confirmation email will be received by the students, after the descriptiveassignment is uploaded successfully. Students are recommended to preservethesame for future reference. 

11.Re-attempt of any assignments will not be accepted. 

12.It is advised to submit your assignments well in advance. 

13. Students who do not submit the assignment before the due date will bebarredfrom taking up that particular semester examination. However, they will beeligibleto take up University End examinations provided the assignment is submittedintheconsequent semester. 

14. Only assignments with duly filled cover sheet will be eligible for valuation.

15.Assignments which do not align with the respective elected optional languageof thestudents shall not be considered.

As a part of formative evaluation, a new scheme of assignment has beenintroduced. Details pertaining to the same are as mentioned below. 

1. Formative evaluation will be based on three assignments. Eachassignmentshall include 20 MCQ’s (time bound) and 5 descriptive questions

2. Assessment weightage shall be 1/3 rdfor MCQ format and2/3rdfordescriptive format respectively for all the subjects. 

3. All the assignments shall include questions of both types – MCQandDescriptive. 

4. First assignment shall comprise of questions fromfirst two modulesforasubject with 4 units; whereas a subject with 5 units shall compriseofquestions from the first two modules and half of third module as well.

5. Second assignment will comprise of questions from3 rd and 4 th moduleforasubject with 4 units; whereas a subject with 5 units will compriseofquestions from half of 3 rd module and 4 th and 5 th module. 

6. The third assignment will comprise of questions fromall the 4/5moduleswith equal weightage given to all the modules. 

7. Best of three assignments will be considered for the final formativeassessment to attain the eligibility for writing the examination.

8. Submission of at least two assignments is mandatory. Third assignmentshall be optional and not compulsory.
