    Discussion: Students, please discuss the issue of trying juveniles as adults. Should juveniles ever be tried as adults? Are there some situations in which it would be acceptable? If juveniles are tried as adults, how should they be sentenced and incarcerated? Can the more rehabilitative philosophy of the juvenile court be applied when a juvenile is tried in an adult court? Should juveniles be shackled when they appear at juvenile court hearings? Why or why not? Are there any conditions in which it would be appropriate? What impact do you think shackling might have on the juvenile? On the juvenile court judge? Do you think juveniles tried as adults before a jury should be shackled? Why?
