A research paper is due according to the schedule in the module.
This assignment is to guide the adult learner to appropriate sources of information in the topic of Abnormal Psychology. The goal of this class is to enable the student to understand psychological disorders and treatment options. In order to carry this out it will take an opportunity to research and write a paper covering the framework of a specific psychological disorder. The student will be free to choose from the disorders mentioned in the text or from the listing in the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-IV TR. The research paper is due on the final night (10
th) of the module.

The student will conduct library and internet research, and write no less than 5 page paper discussing the main aspects of the chosen psychological disorder. APA writing style will be the chosen style for this paper. The paper must meet the following requirements:
 Cite four major sources (Wikipedia does not count as a major source), which can include scholarly research journals and the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-IV TR.

 Abstract
 Reference page

The total paper should no less than
5 pages. Include a cover page, as well as an abstract, which will provide an overview of the paper. The articles should be from professional journals that are found in the college resource center or via the KYVL (Kentucky Virtual Library). Although the project may be written in first person, professional resources must be cited in APA style, such as the textbook, scholarly journals, or internet resources. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.

Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.

The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument
