The Theory of Reasoned Action is based on the notion
that subjective norms can affect individual attitudes and ultimately intent to
perform health behaviors. Provide some examples of “macro” strategies that
could be utilized to influence the development of social norms conducive to the
health of the community. (Note: You may want to select a specific topic such as
smoking, etc., for which to provide the examples).

Discuss the concept of perceived behavioral control as
it is used in the Theory of Planned Behavior. Describe some ways that a health
educator/health promoter could help an individual enhance their perception of
behavioral self-control. (Note: as part of your answer you should explore the
relationships among locus of control, self-efficacy and perceived behavioral
control).

The Social Cognitive Theory utilizes a four “phase”
approach to skill development/behavior change. Discuss each of the four phases,
being certain to outline the major tasks that should be accomplished during
each phase (i.e. behavioral capability). You may use examples to illustrate the
concepts/tasks if you wish.

The “Stages of Change” model incorporates many of the
concepts and ideas utilized in other behavioral models. Choose a topic to use
as an example and describe the types of intervention activities you would use
to address each of the ten “processes for change” outlined in Stages of Change.
For example, what activity would you use to achieve the goals of the dramatic
relief process, etc.
